Why Mission RTUs Are Different

Mission RTUs are not generic industrial controllers repurposed for water applications. Every hardware component is designed specifically for the demands of water and wastewater utility operations. Key advantages across the product line include:

Self-enrolling installation

RTUs are pre-configured and purpose-built. No programming required. Install the hardware and it connects automatically.

Multi-carrier cellular

Embedded SIM supports AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Telenor with automatic carrier selection. No cellular contracts, no radio licenses, no site path studies.

123SCADA included

Every RTU comes with full access to the cloud-based SCADA platform, mobile app, alarm notifications, and 50+ reports as part of the annual service plan.

Over-the-air updates

Firmware upgrades are delivered wirelessly at no additional cost, ensuring hardware stays current without site visits.

Two-year warranty

Manufacturing and material warranty standard on all RTU products.

Choosing Your RTU? Start with the Power at Your Site

Line-powered units for stations with mains power. Battery units for everything else. Then match the I/O to the site.

Line power at the site

Lift stations, booster stations, treatment processes, and anything with a panel to wire into. Pick by how much I/O and control the station needs.

Built for Off-Grid Sites

Remote tanks, wells, reservoirs, stream and rain gauges, pressure points, and sewer manholes. Battery-powered, with years between visits.

The lineup

Four RTUs. Every monitoring point covered.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What does an RTU do in a monitoring system?

An RTU collects data from field devices and sends it to the monitoring platform. It acts as the link between the site and the SCADA system, helping operators see what is happening remotely.

How do remote telemetry units send data back to SCADA?

Remote telemetry units use available communications such as cellular or other supported connections to transmit site data back to the central platform. That allows alarms and operating conditions to be reviewed in real time.

When is RTU hardware needed instead of simpler monitoring equipment?

RTU hardware is useful when a site needs reliable data collection, communications, and integration with a broader monitoring platform. It is especially valuable for remote or distributed assets that require more than a basic local reading.
