Mission RTU Accessories and Expansion Modules
Mission Communications offers a comprehensive catalog of accessories and expansion modules to extend the capabilities of MyDro 150 and MyDro 850 remote terminal units. From additional I/O capacity to specialized antennas, solar power solutions, and field-ready transducers, every accessory is designed to integrate seamlessly with the Mission hardware ecosystem.

More I/O, recognized the moment it is plugged in
MyDro Expansion Modules connect to the MyDro 150 or 850 via RS485 communication cable and are automatically recognized by the RTU when installed. Readings from expansion modules appear on the LCD touch screen and web portal immediately. Each module mounts to a standard 35mm DIN rail or direct panel mount, and one of each type can be installed on a single MyDro RTU simultaneously.
Safe Module Plus
The most powerful expansion module in the lineup, ideal for every sewer lift station and any application involving pulse instruments. Includes an intrinsically safe float circuit (Class I, Division 1 certified, Groups D-G, T1) that shares high-level float state between the hazardous location and the control panel while meeting NEC requirements.
- 4 pulse input channels for rain tipping buckets and pulse-based flow meters (non-volatile memory maintains count during outages)
- 1 intrinsically safe float input for hazardous sewer lift station environments
- 1 interposing relay output for local alarm lights, buzzers, or safety lock-out functions
- Dispatches high wet well alarms even when AC power fails (powered by MyDro backup battery)
- Configurable debounce time delay to prevent relay cycling from bouncing floats
- Connects via quick-connect RS485 communication cable up to 4,000 feet from the RTU
- Dimensions: 100mm H x 100mm D x 25mm W (4 x 4 x 1 in); weight 0.5 lb
Analog Input Expansion Module
Expand the MyDro’s two onboard analog inputs to a total of nine channels. Accepts 4-20 mA or 0-5 VDC signals selectable by internal jumper and MyDro touch screen configuration. Ideal for sites with multiple level sensors, pressure transducers, or water quality instruments. Maximum power: 1.2W.
Analog Output Expansion Module
Add up to four 4-20 mA output signal channels for remotely controlling chemical dosers, variable frequency drives, or variable position valves. Outputs can be configured manually or automatically. Maximum current: 0.5A out with 500 ohm max load. Maximum power: 3W.
Digital Input Expansion Module
Expand the MyDro’s eight onboard digital inputs to a total of 16 channels. Inputs accept dry switch closure or powered signals up to 50 VDC. Ideal for monitoring additional float switches, door contacts, generator status, or auxiliary equipment. Maximum power: 1W.
Digital Relay Output Expansion Module
Expand the MyDro’s three onboard relay outputs to a total of nine channels. Each relay handles up to 250 VAC at 10A for controlling pumps, blowers, valves, and other high-power equipment. Maximum power: 2.3W.
How much I/O can a MyDro have?
Start with the channels on the RTU, add expansion modules, and here is the total.
| Channels | Pulse Input | Analog Input | Analog Output | Digital Input | Digital Output |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Base RTU channels | 0 | 2 | 0 | 8 | 3 |
| Expansion channels | 4 | 7 | 4 | 8 | 6 |
| Total I/O | 4 | 9 | 4 | 16 | 9 |
Antennas
Mission offers a range of antenna options to ensure reliable cellular connectivity in every installation environment:
- Standard omnidirectional antenna: Included with every MyDro RTU; 11 ft cable with SMA termination and universal mounting bracket
- High-gain directional antennas: For installations in areas with marginal cellular signal strength
- Yagi antennas: Maximum range for the most challenging signal environments
- Low-profile and concealed options: For installations where visual impact is a concern
Power and Solar
For sites without reliable AC power or where solar supplementation extends backup duration:
- Solar panel kits: Sized for Mission RTU power requirements with charge controller integration
- Extended battery packs: Upgraded backup battery (PN PW427) for longer outage coverage on MyDro 150/850
- DC power converters and surge protection: Protect RTU electronics from power quality issues
Transducers and Sensors
Mission-compatible transducers and sensors for level, pressure, and flow measurement:
- Submersible pressure transducers: For tank level and well monitoring applications
- Non-contact ultrasonic sensors: For open channel and reservoir level measurement
- Pressure sensors: For distribution system pressure monitoring
- Flow meter pulse outputs: Compatible with MyDro 50 and Safe Module Plus pulse inputs
Cables and Mounting Hardware
Everything between the RTU and the field device, tested with the hardware it connects to:
- RS485 communication cables (PN CP500): Jacketed with RJ45 on MyDro end; 2 conductors for data, 2 for power; up to 4,000 ft
- Mounting brackets and enclosure hardware for NEMA 1, NEMA 4X, and FlatPak installations
- Service packages: Required for expansion module installations (PN SPMB-12 for modules, PN SPOP-12 for Safe Module Plus)
Built for the MyDro 150 and MyDro 850
All five expansion modules work with both line-powered RTUs. The MyDro 50 and MyLevel use their onboard I/O and the antenna, power, and sensor options above.
