MyDro 850 Remote Terminal Unit

The MyDro 850 is Mission Communications’ most advanced remote terminal unit, purpose-built for master pump stations, critical process monitoring, and complex multi-point control applications. It delivers real-time alarm data and streaming analog values reported every two minutes or on 5% change, providing the continuous visibility that high-priority infrastructure demands.

Why it is different

Real-Time Streaming Data

Unlike RTUs that report on fixed intervals, the MyDro 850 streams analog data in near real-time. Analog values are reported every two minutes or whenever a 5% change is detected, whichever comes first.

This streaming approach captures rapid fluctuations in levels, pressures, and flows that interval-based reporting would miss. Pump states are reported in real-time with support for up to eight configurable pump runs and simultaneous runtime tracking for up to seven pumps.

I/O Capabilities

The MyDro 850 delivers extensive input/output capacity out of the box, with expansion options to scale for the most demanding installations:

  • 8 onboard digital inputs with selectable wire fault supervision or direct attach current sensing switch; expandable to 16 with PN OP653 expansion module
  • 2 onboard analog inputs (4-20 mA isolated or 0-5 VDC) with 4 alarm set points each; expandable to 9 with PN OP465 module
  • 3 remotely controllable relay outputs (Form C, dry contact, 5A at 30VDC, SPDT, N/O or N/C); expandable to 9 with PN OP654 module
  • 4 pulse input channels with Safe Module Plus expansion module (PN OP750) with 2-minute reporting
  • 4 analog output channels (4-20 mA) with PN OP461 module
  • RS485 support for specified expansion modules
  • Electronic key reader for site activity tracking and service mode

Automated Control Features

The MyDro 850 supports advanced automated control capabilities that eliminate the need for separate PLCs or radio networks:

Digital Interconnect

A digital input/output change at one RTU automatically triggers a relay change at another RTU. Automate site-to-site control without private radio networks.

Analog Interconnect

Mirror analog values between locations in real-time for coordinated process control.

Tank and Well Control

Automatically command well pumps on and off based on tank level readings. Supports up to five outputs (pumps, valves, etc.).

Emergency Backup Pump Control

Software-enabled feature that temporarily takes over pump control for up to two pumps when the primary controller fails.
